Trusting God in Seasons of Waiting
Introduction
Waiting is one of the hardest parts of faith. Whether we’re waiting for an answer, a provision or a change, Scripture reminds us again and again that God is at work even when we can’t see it. In this short study, we’ll look at a few passages that speak to the waiting heart.
1. God’s timing is not our timing
Start by reading Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. Solomon reminds us that there is a season for everything. Then turn to Isaiah 40:31 and notice the promise given to those who wait on the Lord.
Reflection: What season are you in right now? How does it change things to see it as a season rather than a permanent state?

2. God works all things for good
Read Romans 8:28. Paul doesn’t say all things are good, but that God works in all things for the good of those who love Him. Compare this with Gen 50:20, where Joseph looks back on years of hardship and sees God’s hand.
Reflection: Can you think of a past difficulty that God later used for good?
3. Bringing our worries to God
Read Phil 4:6-7 and 1 Pet 5:7. Both passages invite us to hand our anxieties over to God instead of carrying them alone.
Reflection: What worry can you bring to God in prayer today?
4. The example of faith
Take time to read the whole of Hebrews 11. It’s a list of people who trusted God without seeing the full outcome. Pay special attention to Heb. 11:1 and 11:6.
Memory verse for the week: Psalm 27:14
Closing prayer
Lord, teach us to wait with patience and hope. Help us trust Your timing, rest in Your promises, and remember that You are working even when we cannot see it. Amen.
